Noteworthy Boys Ensemble

This ensemble will address healthy vocal production in the changing male voice. Both unchanged and changed voices are welcome. This choir will focus on music appealing to boys that teach fundamentals of music, 2-3 part singing, staging, choreography, and performance. A theory packet of homework will be assigned as needed to further develop measurable skills at an individual level. Students will develop vocal skills as they explore a variety of music including art songs, folk songs, spirituals, holiday, pop and Broadway music especially suited and appealing to boys. The goal of this class is fun through music that is challenging, yet “cool”. Note this choir will perform sacred as well secular Christmas music in the December concert.

Dance Technique/Foundations is an optional dance class that will focus on healthy technique and skills. The dance class will be separate from the choir rehearsals. Instructor-Nicole Burgess.

Dance Extensions will become technique/foundation classes not associated with any specific choirs. Girls Chorus and Noteworthy Boys will continue to have movement to some of their songs, but will not be choreographed. Separating the vocal and dance pieces will allow students to focus on building skills and healthy habits in preparation for advanced choirs, show choirs, and even musical theater, etc.
